TOUR
DESCRIPTION :
Discover the novel The
Da Vinci Code accompanied by your own private "symbologist" historian
guide. As in Ron Howard’s new film we’ll start by discovering the Ritz
Hotel, at the place Vendome.
After, comes the visit to the Louvre Museum.
The action in this thrilling novel begins when Jacques Sauniere, the
curator of the Louvre and grand master of the Priory of Sion, is
murdered in the Louvre’s Grand Gallery. His dying gestures serve to
provide clues as to his murderer – and to his role in the Priory of
Sion, which had been to protect his granddaughter, Sophie Neveu, from
the evil Opus Dei, a sect-like branch of the Catholic Church, that
wishes to wipe out his family who are the presumed modern descendants
of Jesus and Mary Magdalene.
Guided visit of the
Louvre: You will have direct admission to the Louvre,
without waiting in the long lines for tickets. Once inside, your visit
will be oriented to Leonardo’s paintings and revealing the hidden
messages in the Mona Lisa (secret of Amon and Isis to explain her
smile), The Madonna of the Rocks, Saint John the Baptist, Arcadian
Shepherds. In the Grand Gallery you will also see Caravaggio’s
paintings, the spot where Jacques Sauniere died, positioning himself as
Da Vinci’s Vitruvian man.
Your
guide will show you where Jacques Sauniere pulled the Caravaggio from
the wall of the Grand Gallery, the location of the exit where Sophie
faked her escape by throwing the GPS tracker out the window. You’ll see
where Robert Langdon and Sophie cracked the first part of the code, the
“ Draconian Devil “ and “Lame Saint» secret anagrams. You’ll see the
passages they raced down to view the Mona Lisa in order to discover the
next clue. You’ll see the Madonna of the Rocks painting which gave the
”dark the con of man” anagram.
I.M. Pei’s inverted
pyramid and the Arc du Carrousel, which all figure importantly in the
novel.
Your guide will take
you step by step through the story’s actions in the Louvre.
Then discover the Saint Sulpice church on your own where you will
follow the footsteps of the murderous albino monk from Opus Dei. You
will see the rose line that slices through the church and points to the
key under the slender stone pyramid that will unlock the secret of the
Grail.
