By air:
Closest airport:
Budapest Ferihegy (24 km to the south of
Budapest city centre). Take the "Airport
Minibus", which carries a number of
customers to their destination.
Or pick up a taxi in front of the airport or
by telephoning the taxi company "6x6 Taxi"
on (361) 266 66 66 (a company where they
speak English as well as being the
cheapest).
By train:
it is possible to pick
up a taxi in front of the station.
Car parks:
the closest: Aranykéz
utcai Parkolohaz ? Aranykéz u. 4-6 Budapest.
This car park has several levels and is
close to the international port on a street
perpendicular to the Marriott Hotel (which
is on the banks of the Danube). Entry and
exit are checked by cameras and security
personnel. The interior of the car park is
under 24 h video surveillance.
Animals
For everyone's comfort and for reasons of hygiene and safety, animals are not allowed on board. Thank you for your understanding.
Money on board
All payments on board are in euro (cash, bank cards: Visa, Eurocard, Mastercard, American Express but not Diners Club nor checks). There are no currency exchange facilities or ATMs on the boat.
Climate
Continental climate. Temperatures can be high in summer and cold in winter. The weather can change very quickly.
Formalities*
A
valid
identity
card
(European
Union
travelers)
or
passport
(Non-European-Union
travelers)
is
compulsory
for
all
of
our
cruises
on
the
Danube.
For
our
cruises
on
the
Tisza
and
to
the
Black
Sea,
a
passport
is
required
which
must
be
valid
for
a
minimum
of 6
months
after
the
return
date.
Babies
and
children
must
also
have
valid
identification
or
be
included
on
the
passport
of
the
parents
accompanying
them
(possible
up
to
14
years
of
age).
If
they
are
not
accompanied
by
their
parents,
they
must
have
an
authorization
to
leave
the
country
signed
by
their
parents.
FYI:
if
the
child
is
traveling
with
only
one
of
its
parents,
he
must
have
an
authorization
to
leave
the
country
signed
by
the
other
parent.

Valid
on

date
of
printing
for
French
nationals.
For
other
nationalities:
please
inquire
with
the
competent
authorities.

If
you
wish
to
extend
your
holiday
to anywhere
in
Europe,
please
contact
our
friendly

Specific diet
Remember to inform your
travel agent if you have
a specific diet before
your departure in order
that your cruise runs as
smoothly as possible.
Health
If
you are traveling from
outside the European
Union, we suggest that
you purchase our Travel
Insurance, which will
cover your medical
expenses. Please
check with our friendly
agents for Traveler's
insurance info. If
you are traveling in the
European Union, remember
to ask the Social
Security for the
European card. This
replaces form E111 and
is valid for one year.
It is free of charge but
may take up to 4 to 5
weeks to be issued! In
emergencies, the Social
Security offices can
issue you with a
certificate which serves
as an intermediate
solution on request.
Remember to bring any
medication you are
taking as well as a copy
of your prescriptions.
Air transport
We
would ask you to respect
the check-in times
mentioned on your ticket
/ flight itinerary.
Baggage
In
the event of damage to
or non-delivery of your
baggage by the airline
company, please refer
immediately to the
baggage complaints
department at your
airport of arrival.
A complaints dossier
will be opened. You must
fill in a loss or damage
statement and provide
the following documents:
- the original of the
loss or damage statement
drawn up at the airport
- the passenger receipts
for your airline tickets
- the original boarding
pass
- the original baggage
identification tags
issued when checking in
your baggage
Please keep them in a
safe place.
We would remind you that
the baggage weight limit
is 20 kg per person.
Furthermore, we would
draw your attention to
the fact that all sharp
instruments such as
Swiss Army knives, nail
scissors, nail files,
etc. must be put in the
baggage you check in and
not in your hand
luggage. They may
otherwise be
confiscated.
What to pack
Remember to pack casual
clothes, a sports
outfit, a sweater for
the evenings, a more
formal outfit for the
gala evening and,
especially, comfortable
walking shoes for the
excursions. Towels are
provided on the boat but
there are no face
flannels.
